This Baked Onion Rings recipe is one of the first ones I shared on this cooking blog, to be exact, it’s even the sixth recipe I posted but I have to admit that the pictures of the time didn’t pay it the tribute it deserves so I took advantage of a little appetizer to redo this delicious recipe and make new pictures.
I hope they will make you want to try it because this no-fry onion rings recipe is a pure wonder! I really like the crispy exterior and the ultra soft, melting interior.
This time I used regular breadcrumbs, but you can also crush crackers or, better yet, use Panko breadcrumbs, which are even lighter and crispier.
For those who like cheese, you can also add finely grated parmesan or pecorino cheese and mix it into the breadcrumbs, I can tell you that you will make friends).
For the breading, I use a technique already tested and approved in other recipes like for my chicken nuggets, my breaded camembert or my breaded shrimps.
The principle is to pass successively the ingredients in flour or cornstarch, then in a beaten egg and finally in breadcrumbs.
The result is always excellent, so why change it? Also, since with this technique I don’t fry, the recipes are less greasy and it doesn’t smell all over the house.
Why complicate life when this version of baked onion rings works so well? So, get ready to impress your friends and put an American touch to your appetizers 😉
