Have you ever tried homemade chicken tenders? It’s such an easy and quick recipe to prepare that once you’ve tried it, you won’t be able to do without it. It’s a recipe that I make from time to time on Wednesday afternoons with my darlings and they love it. As they go to school in the morning, I prepare them before picking them up, and I cook them for a minute when we get home because they often can’t wait because they are starving. I imagine that some people must see what I’m talking about… 😉 Well, it must be said that for this Wednesday, no problem, I had time since we were all at home… but they enjoyed preparing them with me and watching how I did.
I can’t believe I haven’t shared this homemade nuggets recipe yet! Well actually, at the very beginning of the blog, I shared a similar one but in the oven version. I must say that since then I have been able to do several tests and I prefer cooking in a pan because the chicken is much more tender. On the other hand, in this old version, you will find a recipe for maroilles sauce which I still love so much. Moreover, after the recipe, at the end of the article, I will give you some sauce ideas to accompany these homemade chicken nuggets…
For the accompaniments of these chicken nuggets, it’s as you like and to adapt according to the season: polenta fries, green beans, mashed potatoes, etc.

Chicken tenders {homemade recipe}
What ingredients do you need to make this chicken nuggets recipe?
- chicken
- flour
- eggs
- breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper
- oil

Chicken tenders {homemade recipe}
Ingredients
- 3 chicken fillets (about 380 g)
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 eggs
- 4-5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper
- 3-4 tablespoons oil
Instructions
- Take the meat out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before cooking so that it is at room temperature.
- On a cutting board, cut the fillets into 2-centimeter-thick slices. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- Prepare 3 bowls by putting the flour in the first, the beaten eggs in the second and the breadcrumbs in the last.
- Dip the chicken pieces in the flour, then in the beaten eggs and finally in the breadcrumbs. For more crunch and thickness in the breading, you can dip them again in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs.
- Just before serving, heat the oil in a pan.Place the chicken nuggets in the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side over high heat.Then lower the heat and continue cooking for a few minutes, turning them over as they cook.Serve immediately and enjoy!
