Chili con Carne is a recipe well known to everyone but I must admit that I rarely make it at home even though it is delicious and simple to make.
Today I offer you my easy chili con carne recipe and I offer you some possible variations…
I made this recipe a few weeks ago, as part of a dietary rebalancing. I don’t know if this interests you, but I wanted to tell you a little about my experience and share my recipe ideas.

Easy Chili Con Carne Recipe
WHAT INGREDIENTS do YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS EASY CHILI CON CARNE RECIPE?
- chopped onions
- garlic cloves
- olive oil
- of ground beef
- a large can of red beans
- chili powder
- powdered cumin
- crushed or pulped tomatoes
- salt and pepper
- finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- if you wish, you can serve this recipe with (canned) corn, it will add a little color
HOW TO SERVE THIS CHILI?
This chili con carne can be served with a little plain or brown rice as a main course. You can also slip it into corn tortillas and put them in the oven or pan for a few minutes with a little grated cheese and a sour cream sauce.
But you can also serve it as an aperitif. I don’t know if you’re familiar with hot nachos, but if you like them, here’s how to make them.
You can place tortilla chips in a baking dish and then spread some of this chili con carne on top. Add grated cheddar cheese or a few spoons of cheese sauce. Spend 10 to 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C. Then serve hot with guacamole and/or Mexican sour cream sauce.
I can tell you that it’s a pure marvel, that I didn’t even have time to take a photo because it was devoured so quickly… I’ll have to start again… 😉
On the other hand, for this last recipe idea, we agree that we are completely moving away from dietary rebalancing… J but we still need a few deviations from time to time… 😉

Easy Chili Con Carne Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 large can of red beans (800 g canned and 500 g drained)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 400 g crushed or pulped tomatoes
- Salt and pepper
- Finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- Rice for serving
Instructions
- Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.Cook it gently in a casserole dish (cast iron) with olive oil.
- Add the beef and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the chili, cumin, crushed tomato and incorporate everything into the beef.
- Add salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.Finally add the drained red beans and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.
- You can serve with rice and a little chopped flat-leaf parsley.
