As time goes by and especially during the holidays, I like to have a small glass of wine or champagne, but I have to say that a small cocktail as an aperitif is always appreciated, especially when it is based on a good rum like in this Christmas punch recipe.
The cranberry juice is light in flavor and tart, so you can enjoy this Christmas cocktail with all sorts of holiday-worthy mignardises, like salmon rillettes, for example.
For the rum, you can use a white rum or an amber rum, but I’m partial to the latter. By the way, what is your favorite rum? I’m always looking for good ideas!
I shared this Punch recipe several years ago and as I’ve refined my recipe, I took the opportunity to take a few more photos to share this new version with you.
Personally, I like sour drinks, so I recommend you try it, especially for the sugar…
For decoration, you can add citrus slices, cranberries or clementine wedges. This time, I added a cinnamon stick and a slice of orange dried in the oven and lightly lit with a flashlight, which brings a little smoky taste. You can also add a sprig of rosemary for extra freshness.
