I’m currently doing an apprenticeship in Germany. My boss bought some leeks and asked me to make something out of them. I had no idea what to do so after a quick google search, I came across this recipe. It worked great! My boss enjoyed it but then told me I should never call it a “fondue”. Is there a reason why this recipe is called a fondue?

    1. Thank you for your message, and I’m pleased you enjoyed this recipe.
In France, “fondue” means “melt”. That’s the French name given to this dish because the leeks are cooked gently, almost as if they were melting. 😉

I really like your leek fondue recipe very much. I’m English, living in France and certainly make mistakes in French whereas I can’t see any mistakes in your recipe.
