Come on, I’m embarking on the cooking blog adventure with my first recipe: a spicy tomato sauce that I prepared for a friend’s bachelorette party.
It’s strange to start a blog because I don’t really know how to take things, and I’m afraid to press the ‘publish’ button but hey, here I go! Here we go, I’m getting started…
So here is a good spicy tomato sauce recipe that I often like to make since I tested it. You can enjoy it during your aperitifs by dipping vegetable sticks and breadsticks but also in your burgers.
I love its smoky taste which is brought by the whiskey and really invites you to try it because it is totally addictive. To try it is therefore to adopt it, you will see!

Spicy and Smoky Tomato Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large tomato
- 4 tablespoons tomato coulis
- 2 shallots
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon whiskey
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon brown suga
- 1 pinch salt, pepper and chili powder
Instructions
- Slice the shallots and lightly brown them in the olive oil.
- Add the tomato cut into small dice as well as the coulis.
- Stir in soy sauce, whiskey, curry, brown sugar, salt, pepper and chili.
- Leave to simmer for 10 minutes over low heat then serve hot or cold as desired.
