You obviously know hummus! It is a puree of chickpeas that is invariably part of any mezze platter.
Personally, I use it as a base and I’ve already tested a lot of recipes, such as with beet, peas, etc. and today it’s a version of feta and lemon hummus that I made and that I’m sharing with you.
Did you know that you can even eat hummus (including this one) warm, it’s even better, and with this feta recipe, I can only recommend it! It will add a great texture by allowing the cheese to melt slightly.
You can then serve this hummus in a nice mezze platter as an appetizer with pita chips, or as a shared dish, or in pita breads with falafels, a little salad and cucumber…
Feta and lemon hummus
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS FETA AND LEMON HUMMUS?
- drained chickpeas
- Greek yogurt
- feta cheese
- garlic cloves
- cumin powder
- olive oil
- cold water
- salt and freshly ground pepper
- organic lemon
- tahini (sesame seed puree)
- chili powder
- flat leaf parsley
I have a little trick to make the chickpeas more digestible, I advise you to remove the small skin that surrounds them, and/or to add a small pinch of baking soda when mixing everything.
