Here’s an appetizer recipe idea to celebrate back to school and since it’s still pretty warm, this Feta cheese Yogurt Dip recipe will be perfect on a nice weekend appetizer platter. Even though it’s more of a Greek dish, I like to serve it with an assortment of mezzes, Lebanese or Greek.
This is really the kind of recipe I’ve been making for a long time and it always makes a big splash. It’s actually very simple, you don’t need many ingredients and it’s very quick. All you have to do is mix some feta cheese with yogurt and add some seasonings. I’ll explain it all below.
You can then eat it with vegetable sticks, breadsticks, pita chips or chickpea patties. But you can also accompany a dish or a salad.
Feta cheese Yogurt Dip {Easy Recipe}
What ingredients do you need to make this delicious feta cheese cream recipe?
- feta cheese
- Greek yogurt
- garlic
- lemon juice
- freshly ground pepper
- olive oil
- zaatar is a mixture of spices or rather dried herbs like mint and sesame. It is very fragrant and fresh. You can easily find it in oriental grocery stores. If you can’t find it, you can always add some dried mint leaves and some toasted sesame.
To serve, you can also add fresh herb leaves such as flat-leaf parsley, fresh coriander or mint. You can also add lemon zest or diced tomatoes.

Feta cheese Yogurt Dip {Easy Recipe}
Ingredients
- 150 g feta cheese
- 125 g Greek yogurt
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- freshly ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon zaatar
Instructions
- In the bowl of a small blender, place the feta cheese cut into small pieces. Add the peeled and pressed garlic clove.
- Then pour in the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, zaatar and pepper.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour the feta cream into a large bowl and drizzle with a little olive oil.
- You can then serve as is or add chopped flat leaf parsley or mint on top, lemon zest, diced tomatoes or a little zaatar.
- Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until ready to use.
