Appetizer ideas for a Christmas Menu
This recipe for gratinated oysters has long been one of my great classics on my end-of-year holiday table, whether for Christmas or New Year’s Eve. It is often unanimously appreciated even by those who don’t like oysters in general…
This recipe is really fun to try. You will have to anticipate a little because it takes several days to prepare it but it is a success every time. Try it and you will be surprised!
3. Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Appetizer
This pretty tree made from puff pastry and pesto is a real treat. You can prepare it at the last minute because it’s quick and simple, and you’ll love it, it’s really very good!
It’s a very easy and quick idea to prepare that I often make throughout the year for my homemade aperitifs. I refine it each time and for me, the secret really lies in adding a lot of dill and not forgetting the pink berries, it brings a real plus to these rillettes.
Gougères are truly part of French cuisine and with this recipe they are essential. All you have to do is prepare the choux pastry and cook it at the last moment with a little grated cheese on top.
6. Oysters with Mignonette Sauce
This recipe is well known to our taste buds but to give it a little original touch, I added some citrus zest which goes wonderfully with the oysters.

This recipe is one of my discoveries of the year. It is very simple and quick to prepare and every time I serve it, my guests are delighted. It is therefore worth testing without delay!
8. Brie Cheese Stuffed with Cranberries and Nuts
This is another real discovery for me! I had already tasted stuffed brie that I bought ready-made from my cheesemonger, but homemade is a treat. It’s a simple recipe to make and you can serve it in cubes as an appetizer or on a Christmas cheese platter.
This recipe comes to me from my mother who made it regularly when we were children. It is very simple to make and is really delicious on toast as an aperitif. You can also add a little candied onion on top.
10. Soft Pretzels
These rolls are a real treat for me. I love preparing them, watching them brown in the oven and enjoying them as is or with some of the pâtés or spreads above.
