12 Fall Appetizer Recipes

Fall Appetizer Recipes: Easy Ideas for a Cozy Gathering
Looking for Fall Appetizer Recipes for your next get-together? You’re in the right place!
Today, I’m sharing a collection of easy fall appetizers that are perfect for a casual evening with friends, a cozy weekend gathering, or a holiday get-together. And, to be completely honest, I originally put this little collection together to celebrate my birthday. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that pretty much any excuse is a good excuse to cook.
So here are a dozen easy appetizer recipes for fall, all made with simple ingredients and plenty of seasonal flavors. No complicated techniques, no need to spend your entire afternoon in the kitchen. Just good food to put on the table and share.
Easy Fall Appetizers for Your Next Gathering
Fall is probably my favorite season for entertaining. The weather gets cooler, the oven is back in action, and suddenly I want all the cozy things: roasted vegetables, caramelized onions, warm cheese, herbs, creamy dips, and anything golden and crisp that can be picked up with your fingers.
That’s exactly what you’ll find in this collection.
Think savory tarts, homemade dips, crispy vegetable bites, cheesy appetizers, and easy finger foods that you can pile onto a big platter and let everyone dig into.
Some are warm and straight from the oven, while others can be prepared ahead of time, so you’re not stuck in the kitchen when your guests arrive. That’s always a win in my book.
And of course, I’ve leaned into the flavors of the season. Apples, squash, onions, herbs, cheese, and warming spices are all right at home on a fall appetizer table. Seasonal ingredients are a big part of what makes these recipes feel like fall without making them complicated.
If you’re putting together a fall appetizer spread, don’t feel like everything has to be complicated or perfectly matched. I actually like having a mix of textures and flavors: something warm and cheesy, something crispy, a creamy dip, and a few fresh or vegetable-based bites. That’s what makes a platter fun to eat.
And if you’re hosting, look for recipes that can be made ahead or at least prepped in advance. Dips, caramelized onions, cheese spreads, stuffed mushrooms, and many pastry-based appetizers can take some of the last-minute work off your hands.
So pour yourself a glass of wine, put together a generous platter, and let everyone help themselves.
Fall is here, and I think that’s a pretty good reason to cook something delicious.
12 Fall Appetizer Recipes

1. Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Pie
This one is a classic in my house. In fact, it was one of the first recipes I shared on the blog, and I’ve made it countless times since.
The combination of slow-cooked caramelized onions and tangy goat cheese is hard to resist. Add a crisp, golden pastry crust and you have the kind of appetizer that disappears from the platter before you even realize it. It’s simple, but it feels special enough for a party.

2. Garlic and Chive Cottage Cheese Dip
This is one of those easy homemade dips I make whenever I have people coming over.
It takes just a few ingredients and comes together in minutes, which is exactly what I want in a party appetizer. You can leave the herbs roughly chopped for a more rustic dip, or blend everything until smooth for a creamy, bright green spread. Serve it with crackers, toasted bread, fresh vegetables, or anything else you like to dip. There really isn’t much to think about here — just blend, taste, and serve.

3. Chips de carotte au four et parmesan
I love this recipe because it’s ridiculously simple but still a little different from the usual party snacks.
Thinly sliced carrots are roasted in the oven with Parmesan until they’re golden and crisp around the edges. You can eat them straight off the baking sheet — no judgment — or serve them with your favorite dip for a more substantial appetizer. They’re also a nice way to sneak a little more seasonal vegetables onto the appetizer table.

4. Goat Cheese and Walnut Muffins
5. Chorizo and Olive Cake
6. French Camembert Beef Burger

7. Oven-Roasted Camembert Cheese
8. Brie Cheese Stuffed with Cranberries and Nuts
9. Perfect cheese platter

10. Smoked Salmon Rillettes
11. Chicken Liver Pâté

12. Homemade Seed Crackers
13. Cheese Gougeres
